Accommodations in Athens
First time in Athens. We are looking for an apartment/ apart hotel for 5 people, preferable a 2 bedroom/2 bath. What area would you recommend? We don’t want an Airbnb because we are arriving in the morning and need a place to leave the suitcases until the apartment is ready. Any recommendations?

Try using the VRBO dot com website to find your accommodations. Use Google Maps to pinpoint the location. For the sake of convenience to the Plaka and Acropolis areas focus your search to those areas near Syntagma Square and the Acropolis. The Metro stations in those areas are Monastiraki, Syntagma and Acropoli.

Booking dot com now also lists privately-owned apartments in addition to hotels, with many in the handy areas noted by brotherlee... some of these can provide luggage storage by advance arrangement. If not, and the deal is attractive, you can stow your bags easily at a convenient safe facility for $5 per bag (just google Athens luggage storage). This may be smartest move, because you're seeking accoms that are in High demand. BTW, it also helps us advise if you supply key facts like Exact dates, how many nights u want (some places require more than 1 nite) and your preferred budget range per night. (you don't crave suggestions of apts @ $1,000 per night, right?)
