After many years of "semi aviation isolation" Phnom Penh is opening up to the rest of the world, with Qatar Airways being one of the first international carriers to fly here, although still not directly.

There are half a dozen flights from Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City each day to Phnom Penh (prices start at $120 one way) and the travel time is about 45 minutes. Carriers who fly direct include Vietnam Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Cambodia Angkor Air. You can also fly to Siem Reap from Ho Chi Minh City. The flight takes about an hour and costs from $150 one way. There are five flights a day from Hanoi to Siem Reap; these take one hour 40 minutes, and fares start at $150 one way. Vietnam Airlines is the only carrier offering regular direct flights to Siem Reap from both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Regular air service links Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to Bangkok and Vientiane. Domestic flights run between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Air Asia, Bangkok Airways, Lao Airlines, Royal Khmer Airlines, Siem Reap Airways, and Thai Airways have flights to Cambodia .
