Fodor's Expert Review The Leela Goa
Mobor Beach, Goa, 403731, India Fodor's Choice
For flat-out, over-the-top luxury and sophistication, nothing in Goa can top this well-planned 75-acre resort that includes a secluded beach and a magnificent view of cliffs and coves. The open-air lobby is reminiscent of a temple from the ruins of the town of Hampi to the west, complete with panel carvings and a sculpted nandi (sacred bull), and is a wonderful place to spend a cool and quiet afternoon. The two-story, salmon-color villas are arranged along a winding artificial lagoon. Rooms and suites have tile floors, dark-wood furniture, well-appointed bathrooms, and private balconies. Some villas have private swimming pools. The restaurants offer broad and diverse menus and beautiful settings.
