Planning Your Time

If you have just one day in Copenhagen, start at Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn and walk along the pedestrian street of Strøget in the direction of Rådhus Pladsen. You can see Christiansborg and/or Rosenborg Slot along the way, depending on your chosen route. If you're not up for a walk, one of the guided canal tours will give you a good sense of the city. In summer or around Christmastime, round off your day with a relaxed stroll and nightcap in Tivoli.

With additional days, plan to spend time inside one or more of the following: Nationalmuseet, Dansk Design Center, Statens Museum for Kunst, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, and Kastellet. You could also head over to Christianshavn, for its café-lined canals and for Christiania, with its hippie culture.
