Why We Like It

A family run B&B that feels a lot more like a boutique hotel, you’’ appreciate the personal touches at the Lime Tree Hotel. Although amenities are limited to room and board, it feels like so much more, plus the surrounding areas is full of an alluring mix of great culture, shopping and nightlife.

Fodor's Expert Review

Thanks in part to its genial atmosphere and "happy to help" approach, the Lime Tree Hotel has a loyal following for a small, family-run hotel in Belgravia. No gimmicks here, just good old-fashioned service, comfort and quality — plus some competitive pricing. Located in the heart of Belgravia, the Lime Tree Hotel is more homely inn than boutique pied a terre, the two adjoining Georgian townhouses making for the ideal base for those who want to find a slower pace in the city.

Tip Plenty of bus tours and daytrips depart from nearby Victoria, making it a great choice if you plan to leave the city.

Room

Amenities are great but when it comes down to it, it’s all about the room. Here, the odd sized spaces are neatly decorated with the kind of theme you’d expect to find in a Cotswolds hideaway, which means rich, neutral colors on the walls, elegant sconces, heavy detailed textiles, large comfortable beds and thick carpet underfoot.

You Should Know Some rooms are on the small side, a fact which corresponds to the pricing scale.

Bathroom

The subway tiles add a contemporary touch to the rooms, their uniform pattern keeping things up to date. All rooms come with a shower while one of the few with a bathtub can be requested.

Lobby

Once you’re past the cute monochrome exterior, there is no lobby to speak of, just a wide hallway that welcomes you in.

Dining

Bed and breakfast only, the dining room serves a choice of continental or full English breakfast to set you up for the day.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Located on a quiet street in the middle of Belgravia, the hotel has itself a peach of a position surrounded by quaint streets, independent shops and restaurants, with Sloane Square and Victoria just a short walk. Take the Victoria Line from Victoria Station for convenient access to north and south London, or head to Sloane Square for easier connections to West London and the heart of the West end via the District Line.

Restaurants

Visit Ken Lo’s Memories of China (3-minute walk) for traditional — and excellent — Chinese food. For something a little more cultured, try The Royal Court Restaurant and Bar (9-minute walk) for classic European dishes before seeing some new theater.

Bars

Often busy, The Grenadier (18-minute walk) is a mews pub with a great story attached to it. Rumored to be the home of one of London’s most notorious pub ghosts, you’ll always have some company at the bar. Similarly traditional, The Nag’s Head (15-minute walk) has a ban on cell phones, so here is a pub dedicated to the art of conversation, person to person.
