Fodor's Expert Review Mr. Underhill's
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Occupying a converted mill building beneath the castle, this Michelin-starred restaurant looks onto the wooded River Teme and is stylish, light, and informal. The superb Modern British cuisine makes inventive use of fresh, seasonal ingredients. The fixed-price menus, which change daily, could include thick white fish soup served with marmalade ice cream, or a slow roasted side of local Marches beef with parsnip and spinach puree. Book well ahead, especially on weekends. Rooms and suites are available should you want to make a night of it; prices start at about £220.
