Maison Albar Hotel Paris Champs-Elysees
3 Avenue Mac-Mahon, Paris, 75017, FranceWhy We Like It
In this pricey neighborhood this isn't a bad option for a comfortable room that won't kill your budget. Don't expect the height of taste, but you will have everything you need for a pleasant stay, and perhaps even a memorable view.
Fodor's Expert Review
It's location minutes from the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe is perhaps this well-priced boutique hotel's best selling point, but some rooms, all with a sort of opulent 19th-century-meets-the-90s decor, offer a cozy comfort, though service runs the gamut from welcoming and attentive to borderline indifferent.
You Should Know Bustling during the day, this neighborhood is quiet at night.

Room
Rooms vary in size from rather small (and dark) to quite spacious and elegant. Most have voluminous draperies, classic lighting fixtures, contemporary furniture, and many come complete with mirrored ceilings. All rooms have Nespresso machines.
Tip Some top-floor rooms offer a balcony and tremendous views of the Arc de Triomphe. Ask for one of these.
Bathroom
Modern traditional bathrooms vary in size, but all are equipped with heated toilets and all the five-star amenities.
Lobby
There isn't a formal lobby, but you are welcome to install yourself in the spacious restaurant-bar area, under the gigantic rhino head or in the bay window, to watch the large-screen TV or treat yourself to afternoon teatime or nibble from the candy jars.
Gym
A small fitness area offers a treadmill and stationary bikes.
Dining
A friendly, well-meaning staff presides over the hotel restaurant, open for a buffet or à la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a restaurant to patronize in a pinch, not as an event.
You Should Know A block from L'Etoile, this is a business-oriented neighborhood, with a handful of weekday bistros that are teeming lunch but quieter in the evening.
Drinking
The in-hotel bar-restaurant is a perfectly pleasant spot for a drink, where you can sit in the front windows and watch the world go by, or in the sunken bar area to watch the large-screen TV.
What's Nearby
Getting Around
Three metro lines converge at Place d'Étoile, a block away, including line no. 1, the city's fast, central line, and RER A.
This mixed business and upscale residential area is ideal if you want to be near the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe, though it's a bit far from shopping and the restaurants are expensive and geared toward the business crowd.
Restaurants
Some of Paris's greatest gastronomic restaurants—mostly in other hotels—are an easy walk away, including Le George, at the Four Seasons George V, La Scène, at Prince des Galles, Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée, and their wonderful Art Deco bistro Le Relais Plaza with its popular Wednesday jazz nights.
