Air Travel

Marseille has the fifth-busiest airport in France, the Aéroport de Marseille Provence in Marignane. Located about 20 km (12 miles) northwest of the city center, it receives flights from both major airlines—including Air France—and a broad range of budget carriers; airport shuttle buses regularly run to Marseille (€8.20) and Aix (€8.20). The smaller Aéroport de Nîmes-Alès-Camargue-Cévennes, 12 km (7½ miles) south of Nîmes, is served by Ryanair, which operates multiple weekly flights from Brussels, London, and Liverpool. A shuttle bus into Nîmes costs €6; if you’re bound for Arles, cab fare for the 20-km (12-mile) trip is about €50 and takes about 20 minutes.
