Fodor's Expert Review Alessandra
Borgo Santi Apostoli 17, Florence, Tuscany, 50123, Italy
Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.
An aura of grandeur pervades the clean, ample rooms at this property, a block from the Ponte Vecchio and in a building known as the Palazzo Roselli del Turco, which was designed in 1507 by Baccio d'Agnolo, a contemporary of Michelangelo's. Although it's in the dead-center of the centro storico, the street is quiet. Friendly hosts mother and son Anna and Andrea Gennarini speak fluent English.
PROS
- several rooms have Arno views
- the spacious suite is a bargain
- tiny terrace allows for solitude while sipping a glass of wine
CONS
- stairs to elevator
- two rooms do not have en suite baths
- some street noise
