Why We Like It

There’s nothing fancy about Locanda Casa Querini, but for a reasonable price you get helpful service, ample space, and—best of all—an authentic Venetian square as your home base during your Venice stay. Who could ask for more?

Fodor's Expert Review

Close to San Marco but just far enough away to avoid the crowds, on a peaceful campo (square) in Castello where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning and a drink in the evening, this friendly B&B in a 16th-century palazzo has good-sized rooms—and the price is right.

Tip Take advantage of the free water taxi to visit a Murano glass factory.

Room

Spacious, if old-fashioned, guest rooms have Venetian-style furnishings with patterned wallpaper and bedspreads and hardwood floors; some have beamed ceilings, too. Most rooms have views of the square below.

You Should Know There’s one flight of stairs up to reach the guest rooms, though the hotel will help with bags if you ask.

Bathroom

Tiled bathrooms have showers only, no tubs.

Lobby

It’s just a place to check in—nothing more—but guests do congregate at tables on the charming campo in front of the hotel.

Dining

Locanda Casa Querini doesn’t have its own restaurant but does serve a complimentary breakfast either in the breakfast room or outside in the lovely square.
