Why We Like It
The spacious condos are a nice place for families or groups to call home during a visit to Maui. The grounds are lovely, and the recreation deck is a big draw, with shuffleboard, grills, a dining area, and the pool.

The Kaanapali Golf Course's fairways wrap around this fine, well-priced, two-story condo complex that boasts spacious studios, one- and two-bedroom units with fully equipped kitchens, and access to a stocked beach cabana on a semi-private beach. The complex itself isn't exactly on the beach—it's a quick golf-cart trip away—but when you arrive, you will have beach chairs at your disposal, as well as a full kitchen and lounge area at the cabana. Back at the condo complex, the style of the privately owned units may vary, but most are tastefully decorated and offer modern appliances and spacious bathrooms. No elevator.
Tip Though the property isn’t directly on the beach, guests have access to a cabana at the beach (about a five minute walk) which includes a sun deck, restrooms, and a kitchen.

Room
Condos include studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom options with either garden or partial ocean views. Each includes a large, full kitchen, in-room washer/dryer, private lanai, and Wi-Fi that is included in resort fee. Decor is island-inspired, with rattan furniture, and has a bit of an outdated look.
You Should Know There is a mandatory cleaning fee, plus optional daily housekeeping fee, in addition to a $17 resort fee (covers Wi-Fi and parking).
Bathroom
Bathrooms include tub/shower combos, with vanities and large mirrors, as well as Outrigger branded toiletries.
Lobby
The lobby is simple, but spacious, with lots of browns and greens, woods and wicker, and minimal seating.
Pool
There are two pool areas for guests. One is a smaller, oval pool with turtle mosaic and a few loungers. The other pool is part of a large recreation deck. It is a large, rectangular pool with a small kid’s area inside it.

Getting Around
It’s easy (and preferable) to explore Maui’s smaller towns by foot, but to get to them and around the island, you’ll need to rent a car. If you plan on exploring the Road to Hana, get something with a little extra horsepower (but not too big as the road can get very narrow).
Restaurants
Enjoy a great meal in a fun, relaxed atmosphere at Down the Hatch (10-min drive). This self-service restaurant is a favorite among locals and tourists, loved as much for its vibe as for its drinks and food. The southern aloha spirit runs strong with friendly staff and a menu that features heavily on fish and seafood, particularly in sandwich and taco form, but also includes specialties like chicken & waffles. Those looking for a plant-based option won’t be able to get enough of their sweet potato tacos. It’s one of two restaurants in Lahaina that stays open until midnight. Round your meal out with a refreshing treat from sister company (in the same courtyard) Hawaii Shave Ice Co.
For a casual meal with one of the best ocean views in Lahaina, try Aloha Mixed Plate (6-min drive) for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You’ll get your plate lunch fix with some traditional items like teriyaki beef and kalbi ribs, as well as a loco moco plate, and a mixed plate that lets you try a few different items. Besides the famed plates, you’ ll find a fresh breakfast menu, and sandwiches, salads, and noodles at lunch and dinner. You’ll also find a special treat on their menu--a few of their items, including the pork and beets, are cooked in the nightly imu from next door’s luau. AMP is a good choice for families.
Bars
Find a daily happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m., live music from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday through Monday, and trivia nights on Wednesday at family-friendly Pour House (13-min drive) that features cocktails, beer, and an extensive wine list.
Monkeypod (3-min drive) has some really great food, with a focus on local products that create a variety of appetizers, pizzas, noodles, salads, and seafood dishes in a fun, family-friendly environment. Their newest location in Whaler’s Village has two daily happy hours from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and 9 to 11 p.m., as well as live music most days--performances start at 1, 4, and 7 p.m.
