When To Go

Any Saturday is a great day to explore the uniqueness of Cajun Country. Spring and fall are especially full of small-town, family-friendly festivals celebrating local food and culture. Cooler temperatures make late September and October a good time to learn the history of plantation homes and to take swamp tours as well, but it's also the tail end of hurricane season. In December, seasonal bonfires glow along the river.
