Transfers

From Santa Fe, your best bet is renting a car. Taos Express provides bus service between Taos and Santa Fe, including a stop at Santa Fe’s train station, from which you can catch the New Mexico Rail Runner train to Albuquerque (and then a free bus to the airport). The fare is just $10 round-trip, but service is offered only on weekends (one Friday evening run, and two Saturday and Sunday runs, one in the morning, one in the evening). Twin Hearts Express has shuttle service four times daily between Taos and Albuquerque Sunport ($95 round-trip), but they don’t stop in Santa Fe. Additionally, during the ski season (late fall–early spring), Taos Ski Valley operates a daily shuttle between the airports in Albuquerque ($85 round-trip) and Santa Fe ($65 round-trip) and the ski valley; once at the ski valley, you have to take a taxi ($35 one-way) or the local Chili Line Shuttle bus ($2 round-trip) into Taos. Unless you’re coming to Taos just for skiing, this is a pretty cumbersome and expensive option.
