Why We Like It
The location is quite alluring, serene even, being surrounded by the water and in the heart of the oldest part of Manhattan. Likewise, especially for New York, these rooms are so spacious—larger than Manhattan apartments in fact. While the ambiance is a tad generic for New York, the level of comfort offered all but makes up for that.

Much like the Ritz Carlton’s symbol, the Battery Park property perches on the New York harbor and certainly is a pride of the brand. It’s a looming property, large in stature and accommodation that feels like a Grand Hotel, with sweeping ballrooms and Sunday Brunch. Contemporary corporate elegance defines the decor vibes, and across the entire hotel are magnificent vistas of the Statue of Liberty or the Harbor. At the end of Manhattan, the Ritz feels a world in of itself.

Room
Space and amenities, not ambiance, are at the best in play here. From the smallest room (a deluxe) to the premiere suites, there is square footage in abundance—then again, at this price point, there certainly should be room to live in. This Ritz location also boasts residences, thus the hotel takes on a similar mood. Rooms take on an apartment feeling though these rooms aren’t homey. Primarily serving business travelers (the hotel is located in the heart of the Financial District), the rooms are comfortable for working, with suites even suited for taking meetings. The room also is kitted out with 4-star amenities, from plush robes to turn-down service and feathery beds.

Bathroom
Marble soaking tubs and Japanese toilets are the sorts of luxury features that keep this Ritz Carlton on the fine side of 4-stars.
Lobby
Attractive and befitting the neighborhood, the hotel’s lobby echoes a residential building with discreet concierge and front desks, and doorman buzzing about ensuring needs are being met. The lobby leads both to the ample meeting space on the second floor, but also towards 2West, the hotel’s restaurant and bar.
Spa
The Ritz Battery Park is the sole US proprietor of the French skin care brand Caritas, a favorite for facials; the spa also has an extensive massage and treatment menu.
Gym
24 hours and spacious, this gym will certainly please the business go-getters who stay here.
Dining
2West serves as the hotel’s de facto restaurant and bar, even catering 24-hour room service. Located on the ground floor, the dining room is positioned to maximize harbor and Battery Park views. American Nouveau to the max, the menu filters classic American concepts through a bistro lens. The restaurant is known for its classic over-the-top Sunday Brunch, and for holiday occasions, the restaurant turns out special coursed menus.
Drinking
2West also is the property’s bar that touts an extensive and well-regarded wine list. It’s less of an after-work scene as for business travelers to unwind.

Located at the end of Manhattan, most trains stop nearby, including the 5 at Bowling Green and R at Rector Street.
Restaurants
If someone’s paying (and if you’re in FiDi there’s a good chance someone else is), tempt with Augustine (12-minute walk), the new Keith McNally in the Beekman Hotel. Philly-import Amanda (10-minute walk) does the unexpected: shock New Yorkers with its original tapas.
Bars
Stroll Stone Street (7-minute walk) in search of roaring pints with recently released white collar workers, but if the bro force is too strong, try The Dead Rabbit (10-minute walk), which remains FiDi’s most sophisticated spot for a well-shaken drink and rightly spiced finger food.
