As a thriving business hub, Ho Chi Minh City works hard and plays hard. You'll find plenty of lively bars and nightclubs all across District 1. The performing arts are largely represented by the Saigon Opera House and the French-government-funded Idecaf venue, which both hold regular concerts. English-language films either have Vietnamese subtitles or are dubbed (very loudly) into Vietnamese. If you want to see one, make sure you get a ticket to a subtitled screening so that you can hear the original soundtrack. For movie screening times in English, visit dimovie.vn.
AIR Saigon (formerly known as Air 360 Sky Lounge) has fantastic views of Ho Chi Minh City, and is a great place to catch the sunset. Staff are usually attentive and the menu is a mix of Vietnamese and Western dishes. The drink prices are reasonable during happy hour (6–8 pm) but quite pricey otherwise.
