Fodor's Expert Review
Modern in design and attitude, The Colonnade has been a sophisticated mainstay of Boston's independent hotels since it opened in 1971. With superb service, comfortable rooms, and a prime Back Bay location just on the cusp of the South End, it's consistently regarded as one of the city's most respected hotels. Super shoppers will love its proximity to the Prudential Center, which is just across Huntington Avenue.

The Colonnade showcases clean, modern environs injected with hues of khaki, chocolate, and chrome. Guest-friendly touches now include 40-plus-inch flat-panel TVs, pillowtop mattresses, high-thread-count sheets, and round tables perfect for both eating and working. The floor-to-ceiling windows (that, eureka!, actually open) are triple-glazed to keep out the traffic noise of Huntington Avenue. All rooms are equipped with iHome docking station alarm clocks, a Keurig coffee/tea maker and a mini fridge with complimentary water.

Getting Around
Sitting on Huntington Avenue in the Back Bay, The Colonnade is just on the outer edge of the South End's St. Botolph neighborhood. The Prudential Center's stop on the MBTA Green Line is easily accessible right across the street, but many guests prefer to walk to attractions in nearby Copley Square.
Restaurants
There's plenty of casual food options across the street in the Prudential Center, but if you're looking for a fine dining experience, try the Capital Grille (11-minute walk) on nearby Boylston Street, or the ritzy Deuxave (14-minute walk) for modern French and American cuisine.
