Why We Like It

Luxurious and romantic, the inn offers plenty of reasons to stay put, from its lovely large patio with a fire pit, the wide porch with rocking chairs, its cozy wine bar and indoor common spaces with fireplaces. Thoughtful touches like being greeted with a cranberry champagne cocktail upon check in make every guest feel special and service is top-notch. Original artwork throughout the hotel, created by local artists (available for purchase) gives a real sense of place.

This romantic Federal-style property in Chatham was built in the early 1800s and has been thoroughly and beautifully renovated and updated on the inside. The décor, with lots of whites and soothing coastal colors, is punctuated with original art throughout the hotel. Its location, close to the beach and to town, is ideal, though it may be hard to tear yourself away from your luxurious surroundings.

Room

Top-of-the-line amenities include bed linens, pillows and duvets by Matouk and Comphy. Some rooms and suites have fireplaces, balconies and minifridges.

Tip Book room 2, 3, 7, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 or 19 to enjoy a real wood fire.

Bathroom

In 2017, all of the bathrooms were renovated and now sport luxurious spa showers. Bath amenities are by Malin+Goetz and towels, robes and slippers by Frette.

Lobby

A comfortable lobby area has chairs and a fireplace to relax by, but the lovely front porch is a great place to hang out in good weather.

Tip The inn provides beach towels, backpack beach chairs and sunscreen for guests.

Dining

Breakfast, included with your stay, is outstanding, with made-to-order items like eggs Benedict, crab cakes and steak and eggs, as well as coffee, juice and other breakfast favorites. At dinner, the menu changes seasonally, but examples include Chatham lobster gnocchi or local seafood cioppino. Diners can eat in the dining room or when it’s nice out, on the patio, which has a fire pit (guests can borrow warm blankets, if needed). Sunday brunch is over the top, with dishes like brioche French toast and Chatham lobster omelets.

Drinking

The cozy wine bar serves 32 wines by the glass and over 150 labels by the bottle, as well as a full selection of specialty cocktails and craft beers. A fireplace gives the room a lovely ambiance.

It’s ideally located near Chatham’s quintessential Main Street, so you can leave your car parked. Bike rentals are available in town.

Restaurants

The inn recommends The Wild Goose (6-minute walk), which has a number of different dining areas, inside and outside. This means that they are a bit easier to get into than the small restaurants in town. They have a varied and delicious menu (you will definitely find something for everyone here), a full bar with specialty cocktails and everything is freshly prepared. Buca’s Tuscan Roadhouse (13-minute drive) offers wonderful Italian dishes with a Cape Cod spin.
